The special business of the evening will be the raising to the sublime degree of a Master Mason, Brothers Roderick Kelly and Gabriel Leplaige.
There will be a Ballot on the applications of Messer's Andrew Taylor, Wicky Madusanka, Aaron Williams, and Andrew Clarke.
Depending upon the availability of Officers, there will be an re-investiture of Brother James Roberts as our Lodge's Treasurer and the investiture of Brother Jason Flynn as our Lodge's Junior Steward.
*Brethren and their partners are invited to a pre-meeting supper which will consist of a Ceasar Salad, Mac & Cheese with Garlic Toast, plus dessert. The bar will open at 6:00PM and Dinner to be served for 6:30PM.
All Brethren are asked to help defer the cost of the pre-dinner event by contributing $10 per meal. You are asked to pre-register with the Secretary in advance at saintjohnslodgeno1@gmail.com.
May 24th, 2025 Emergent Meeting - Update
The Lodge has received dispensation from the Grand Master of the GL of NL, to conduct an emergent meeting, at Freemasons Hall, Mount Pearl, NL, Saturday, May 24th, 2025, starting at 10:00AM. The intention is to initiate 6 new Brethren, on this day: Messer's Ronald Simon, Dean Strickland (and pending a favourable report and ballot during our May 14th Regular Meeting, Messer's Andrew Taylor, Wicky Madusanka, Aaron Williams, and Andrew Clarke).
Our own Lodge's Membership's regularly scheduled official visitation will be with the Brethren of Lodge NF Kilwinning No. 1754, SC, on May 27th, 2025, 7:30PM, at Freemasons Hall.
MINUTES
The Meeting Minutes of the Lodge's Regularly Scheduled meeting, held April 9th, 2025, have been circulated to the Brethren for their perusal. Please advise the Secretary of any errors or omissions prior to the regular meeting in October at which time those Minutes will be put to the Lodge's Membership for approval.
Outreach Activities
Our Senior Warder reports that the Lodge's "telephone tree" is active and many calls having been made to various Brethren of the Lodge, thus far. General feed back is very positive to this initiative. Any Brother in need of a call or visit, please contact our Senior Warden, whose contact information may be found in your Notice Paper.
During the month of May, there will be a community outreach effort, as noted in the monthly schedule, in support of the Jimmy Pratt Centre, located at 130 George Street West, in the United Church, St. John's, NL Our Senior Warden requires six volunteers to meet this commitment in our Community.
Annual Masonic Charity Golf Tournament and BBQ
The Annual Masonic Golf Tournament was held, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Willows Golf Course in Holyrood. Funds are raised to support School Lunch and Breakfast Programs in all parts of Newfoundland and Labrador, marking the 27th anniversary of this event
Our Fraternity has now contributed in excess of $200,000.00 to Charitable Causes over the life of our Fraternal Tournament.
Corporate Sponsorship is encouraged. All Brethren and their guests are welcome - register as a single player, or as a group ($80.00 per person fee includes a $50.00 tax receipt). There is a trophy for the Team with the lowest score, and we challenge all Lodges to enter a team. We also encourage you to invite non-masons to participate. Contact our Lodge Secretary for further details.

EMERITUS MEMBERSHIP
Brethren who due to chronic medical or physical infirmity are unable to attend Lodge are now entitled to apply for Emeritus Membership which will exempt them from paying dues. For Brethren receiving Notice Paper by email, please see the attached cover letter from the Grand Secretary and the applicable application form. These documents are available on the Grand Lodge website for other members. Please feel free to inform me of any brethren who you feel meet the criteria for Emeritus Membership.
